Frequently asked questions when buying a car from Europe

The most important questions

The most frequently asked question from clients is the cost of our services under the contract. Below is a price list of our services:

  • Selection of a vehicle from Europe - 95,000 RUB.
  • If you are professionally engaged in the delivery of cars from Europe - you can request dealer access from us. To learn more about tariffs - contact us. Please note that each purchased vehicle requires a separate contract and separate payment for our services.

The company is responsible for the quality of its services, according to the contract and undertakes to fulfill all obligations specified in the contract qualitatively and on time. However, our company is not a seller of equipment and is not directly involved in logistics cargo transportation. Therefore, responsibility for the discrepancy between the actual condition of the transport and what was indicated at the auction falls directly on the auction itself. And responsibility for damage during transportation falls on a specific transport company-carrier. However, it is worth noting that such cases are quite rare. There is a special inspection for the auction, which can assess in detail the condition of any lot. Such a service will cost $ 100-150, this will help to prevent an unwanted purchase and dispel doubts in some issues of technical condition. Also, any vehicle can be insured against damage in transit.

To clarify the possibility of inspection and insurance, please contact our specialists.

Our company has official dealer registration at the following auctions: Manheim, Copart, IAAI, Adesa, Impact, NPA.

In addition, you can buy any equipment through our company on the LUXVIPAUTOS.com website, as well as from dealer parking lots.
By agreement with the client, we can purchase any equipment from any source or private individual in Europe.

Each auction charges a fee to the seller and the buyer. The auction fee directly depends on the cost of the car and is approximately $200 to $500.
Auctions may also charge additional online bidding fees of $50 to $75 and may impose additional taxes and fees.

Once the vehicle has been purchased and the auction is over, it CANNOT be returned to the auction. The only reason a vehicle can be returned to the auction is if the customer ordered a PSI (Post Sale Inspection) after the purchase (Manheim auction) and the inspection revealed serious defects that, according to the auction rules, the vehicle can be returned to the auction.

PSI (Post Sale Inspection) is a post-sale inspection that can be ordered at an auction on the day of purchasing a car for an additional check of possible damage to the car that was not noticed during the preliminary inspection of the car. The body part of the car and the mechanical part are checked, or a full check of all parts of the car is done.
The auction publishes a list of damages that, if found during the PSI, the car can be repaired at the auction or returned to the auction. The auction provides a 7 or 14 day guarantee for the PSI inspection.
The average cost of a PSI inspection is between $110 and $250. If the vehicle passes the inspection, the auction usually does not send the PSI form to the dealer. The auction only contacts the dealer if damage is found during the PSI inspection.

AS-IS stands for AS IS, which means that the vehicle is sold at auction in the condition it is in at the auction and the auction does not accept any claims regarding its condition after the sale.

Auction

If you compare buying vehicles from Europe at auction with buying from private individuals, the main advantage of the auction is the price. Due to the unprofitability of restoring damaged cars in Europe, they are sent to auction, where they are sold at a price much lower than the market price. Also, some cars presented at the auction cannot be registered in Europe, therefore, such a car cannot move on public roads. Due to this, American buyers do not participate in bidding for such cars, so the price for them is lower. The entire process of buying a car at auction is described in detail and is subject to certain rules. If you buy a car from a private individual, then such a car may have hidden damage, mileage and other unpleasant moments. In turn, the auction checks the condition of the equipment being sold and is responsible in the event of a serious discrepancy with the declared condition.

Yes, this can happen, but very rarely. If this happens, you should understand that first of all, people work at the auction, who are prone to human errors. They can miss or not notice some damage. To avoid such errors, use the AUTOCHECK vehicle inspection system and the PSI (Post Sale Inspection) system.

Yes, you can.
Please note that if there is no TITLE for the vehicle at the auction, we can pick it up and transport it to the port of shipment. The vehicle will be in the port until we receive the TITLE from the auction, for this, according to the auction rules, there are 45 days to send the TITLE to the buyer.
During this time, the vehicle will not be able to pass customs control and will remain in the port, which increases delivery times.

There are companies that will perform a detailed independent inspection of a vehicle for a fixed fee.
To order this service, please contact our company staff by email.

Payment

If the vehicle is purchased at auction - you must pay the final auction price, auction fee, dealer fee of LUX VIP AUTOS, shipping cost in Europe, shipping cost by sea, shipping cost of documents by mail and other additional services, if ordered.
When purchasing construction and special equipment, the cost of delivery within the USA may be higher due to oversized equipment.

You can pay for the purchased vehicle by bank transfer to the LUX VIP AUTOS bank account. Payment is made in Euro in Europe or Rubles.
The payment amount is formed on the basis of the Invoice sent to the client immediately after the purchase of the car.

Payment for purchased equipment must be received on the auction bank account within 2 (two) business days after the end of the auction local time (Eastern Time).
For example, if you purchased equipment on Monday the 10th, payment must be received in our account by the end of Wednesday the 12th.
In case of late payment, a penalty of $25 will be charged for each day of delay, starting from the third business day from the date of purchase.

If your bet is not a winning one, you do not have to pay anything.
You can continue to place bets until your bet wins.

Delivery

All purchased equipment is transported across Europe only by car transporters.
Car transportation is carried out by transport companies accredited at auctions, with many years of experience in the field of land transportation.
All companies transporting vehicles in Europe on car carriers have insurance for the cargo being transported. The carrier is directly responsible for any damage that occurs during the transportation of the vehicle.
Cars in containers are delivered by sea by large sea carriers on container ships. At your request, we can also send the vehicle not in a container, but on the inner deck of a ship (Ro-Ro), if such a method of shipment is available for the vessel.

A logistics company transporting a container by sea has limited liability for cargo loss. To avoid problems arising in the event of cargo loss, we recommend that you insure the transportation of purchased vehicles by sea.

Yes, there is such a possibility. To find out more about insurance of your vehicle upon delivery, contact your manager.

1. If you are a wholesale customer, you can get information about the stages of delivery of the vehicle in your personal account in the MY CARS section.
There you will also find information about the sea carrier company, the container number and the estimated date of arrival of the container at the destination port.
2. If you are a retail customer, knowing the container number, you can use our CONTAINER TRACKING service to determine the exact location of the container.

Delivery in Europe depends on the distance of the auction from the port, the popularity of the destination and the condition of the purchased vehicle. Severely damaged equipment can affect both the cost of delivery and the delivery time.
The average delivery time for equipment to the port is from 2 to 10 days.
Shipping by sea depends on the direction of shipment, the amount of equipment in this direction, the schedule of ships, port congestion, and the availability of containers.
For major European destinations, the delivery time in a container is from 2 to 6 months. Once the equipment is loaded into the container, you can track the delivery time to the destination port yourself using the container number.

Initially, the container with your vehicle will arrive at the destination port, after which it will be loaded onto a container ship and sent to the temporary storage warehouse. After completing all customs operations, you can pick up your vehicle from the temporary storage warehouse to which it was delivered.

All equipment is photographed and an inventory of its condition is made before being loaded into a container at the port of departure.
If additional minor damage is discovered that is not listed in the inventory when loading the vehicle, you can contact your manager with a request to compensate for the damage.
If the vehicle has been seriously damaged and was insured, you should also contact your manager to receive further instructions on the insurance claim.

We can send purchased equipment to any point in the world.

There are two main ways of delivering equipment:
1. Delivery in a standard 40-foot container, which usually holds 1-4 passenger cars.
2. Delivery on deck (Ro-Ro (Roll on, Roll of)) is carried out on the inner decks of ferry-type ships.

We can also deliver your vehicle by air. This method of delivery is the fastest, but also the most expensive.

You can find out more about delivery methods on the page car delivery from Europe.

Documents

When sending purchased equipment by sea, the following documents are issued: Title (Technical Passport), Bill of Sale (Purchase and Sale Agreement), Bill of Lading (Transport Bill).
All the above documents will be sent to Klaipeda together with the car as soon as the purchased equipment passes customs control at the port of departure.

When delivering purchased equipment by sea, we will provide the following documents for registration:
— Vehicle registration certificate (TITLE)
— Bill of Sale
— Invoice.
We provide these documents ourselves at the port of departure, then book space on the ship, issue a Bill of Lading and handle customs clearance of the cargo.
After customs clearance, the entire package of documents will be sent to you by courier postal service.
